Commsworld Targets Growth in Aberdeen with Appointment

23rd July 2017

SCOTLAND’S largest independent network and internet provider has underlined ambitious growth plans in the North East of Scotland with the appointment of a specialist salesperson.

Fresh from a role with telecoms giants BT, Greig Scott brings more than 10 years’ industry experience from within the industry and is committed to further increasing Commsworld’s market share in Aberdeenshire.

Having previously worked with Aberdeen-based Internet for Business, Greig is excited to be working with Commsworld’s owned network.

Greig said: “Commsworld is the perfect fit for my skillset and ambitions - I would love to see its growth not just continue but gather speed and match the incredible growth they have seen over the rest of the country.

“Previously, I have worked for service providers that re-sell infrastructure, so to work with a Scottish company that does own large sections of their own network is very exciting.“Their flexibility and personal approach is something that more and more businesses are looking for in a network provider and I am pleased to be a part of that going forward.”

Originally from Glasgow, Greig first moved to Aberdeen 12 years ago and has built his career in sales from lead generation to reach his current position.

Ricky Nicol, CEO at Commsworld, said: “We’re thrilled to bring Greig on board as his experience not only matches exactly what we are looking for but his ambitions resonate greatly with what the rest of the team is looking to achieve.

“His background in Aberdeen and specifically in this field makes him the ideal candidate to join and showcase everything that makes the company great.

“What Aberdeen now has in place is at the absolute highest end of what is achievable – and puts the city amongst the likes of Stockholm and Seoul as global tech leaders.

“We are confident that Greig will be able to capitalise on this promise and ensure that we rise to meet the potential in the area.”

Commsworld is looking to build on the initial success of CityFibre’s ultra-fast Aberdeen CORE network, which the firm is connecting local businesses to, providing the potential of gigabit speed network capability.
