The strategic partnership between DataVita, the operator of Fortis, who provide Co-locate, Connect and Cloud services and Commsworld, Scotland’s largest indigenous network operator provides the new 2000-rack capacity facility in Chapelhall, Airdrie with diverse routes to Edinburgh and Glasgow.  Commsworld have expanded their Fluency network to the new facility bringing a 100 gigabit capability for Internet access, Datacentre Interconnect, and Wide Area Networking capabilities to the site.

Latency performance between Fortis to Glasgow and Edinburgh is 1ms or less and brings the Commsworld Fluency Network PoP count to 30 across the UK.

As part of the project to deliver diverse connectivity to the site in Airdrie, Commsworld has lit its first inter-city dark fibre span, bridging their existing dark fibre and DWDM-enabled metro networks in Edinburgh and Glasgow together.
