Commsworld are delighted to announce the appointment of Steve Thomson as a Non-Executive Director on to the Commsworld Board with immediate effect.
Steve joined Commsworld in November 2014 as Non Executive Board Director after a long career in marketing and investment banking in Europe, Asia, North America and Russia, working for Burson Marsteller, Wickes, USB Philips & Drew and was latterly a Managing Director of Credit Suisse First Boston and Moscow based United Financial Group. In 2000 Steve acquired a UK based market intelligence service providing Corporate clients worldwide with analysis of developments in the aviation industry in Russia, Ukraine, the Baltics and central Asia and sold the business in 2013. He is a currently a Board Member of Highlands & Islands Enterprise and a Director of Hebridean Sea Salt, as well as having been involved in a number of community ventures including Tiree Community Broadband and Tiree Renewable Energy Limited and Our Power based in Cairndow run by local charity 'Here We Are'.
This appointment further underlines the ambition of Commsworld to become the prominent Next Generation Network Provider and ISP within the Scottish market for the business community and we know that Steve will play an important part in Commsworld fulfilling its ambitions.
With Steve Thomson joining us, Malcolm Macpherson is retiring from our board. Malcolm has been with Commsworld since 2000 and has played an invaluable part in the company’s evolution and growth.
Ian Blackford will become chairman of Commsworld with immediate effect.
