Commsworld would like to congratulate our friend Kevin Donaghy for raising over £1,100 for charity through his book ‘Stories of Cancer and Hope’.
Kevin, who is living with his own incurable cancer, created the book to provide hope to those affected by cancer through sharing 39 real-life personal stories of others. Thanks to Kevin and his publishers, Swan and Horn, sales have raised £1,157.66 for Maggie’s.
The book includes Kevin’s own story of his experience of being diagnosed with Stage 4 Melanoma, as well as Commsworld vice-chairman Ricky Nicol, who wrote about his battle with throat cancer. Commsworld also donated money to help with publishing costs.
Other story contributors include Labour MP Sir Chris Bryant to Nicola Nuttall, mother of brain cancer campaigner Laura Nuttall.
Ricky, who was present at the handing over of a cheque by Kevin to Maggie’s, said: “I would like to offer my huge congratulations to Kevin for his hard work and dedication in raising this magnificent sum. I’ve been delighted to have both written for the book, and see Commsworld contribute sponsorship in order to see Kevin’s dreams of providing hope for others become a reality. Long may it continue.”
The physical and digital versions of Stories of Cancer and Hope are still available to purchase at www.storiesofcancerandhope.co.uk
At least £1 from the sale of the printed book will be donated to Maggie’s, along with all proceeds from digital sales.
