“We are now able to conduct business operations with zero interruption to output. Flexibility in terms of adding additional bandwidth and speed as and when we need it gives us true reassurance. Connectivity will become even more important as the business scales and we continue to expand our service portfolio.
“The benefits of being connected to the Gigabit network were especially apparent during the smooth relaunch one of our key assets, PokerTube.com. The future of Edinburgh hinges on world-class connectivity, in our opinion. The ability to leverage connectivity, results in a more meritocratic world, whereby great businesses with a global footprint can be forged and scaled, at speeds that were previously impossible – until now.”
"With regards to our WAN project, I am delighted that an emerging and expanding SME such as Commsworld were able to be a key part of this transformational project for Edinburgh City. Especially as they are headquartered in Edinburgh. This demonstrates the successful flow down of Public Sector investments to the local economy.
Whilst the delivery of the Wide Area Network is a relatively smaller proportion on the whole ICT outsourcing contract, it is a vital building block upon which everything else depends. With this deployment the Council and therefore Commsworld were always up against an immensely difficult time barrier to bring the new infrastructure live but it was successfully delivered on time and on budget. Other suppliers stated that this would take 2 or 3 years as opposed to the 9 months within which Commsworld successfully delivered.
Commsworld were extremely fleet of foot and demonstrated excellent levels of technical knowledge and expertise throughout the project.
The significantly increased bandwidths delivered by CommsWorld will support the increasing demands for access to services and content for many years to come and propels the City of Edinburgh into the 21st Century and comparable to worldwide digital cities such as Singapore and Seoul."

The Lawyers for the Commonwealth Games invested in a Mitel estate that now covers 350 end user points across 4 sites all supported from a virtualised environment hosted in their Data Centre plus survivable branch Controllers for resiliency. The principal number range is all SIP with ISDN at the branches. There are 115 Premium Mitel UC client users with the balance being Standard users for the purposes of Chat, Presence, Voice, Video, Desk dialling and Collaboration. In addition, the system was implemented swiftly due to the single point provisioning tool linking to Active Directory. This client now has a more resilient and stable solution for supporting the organisation business needs.
This client has a Commsworld Fluency multi-site WAN with a Head Office and 10 remote sites. Over this sits a core hosted virtualised Mitel solution in the Commsworld Fluency Data Centre for 137 users. Included is total SIP numbering throughout without any ISDN with the Unified Communication client deployed to all users. The UC client is used as the primary tool for communications between offices and staff.
We needed to have one common telecoms platform throughout the Company as communications is a key factor in the success of any Company. We also took the decision that to facilitate the new Telecoms System and ongoing IT projects that we should upgrade all our Branch Circuits.
This took the complexity of the project to a new level and we knew that Project Managing this was paramount, ensuring that everything fell into place with minimal disruption to the Company. This was the main reason that we turned to Commsworld and to be honest I wouldn’t have entrusted this project to anybody else.
David Gilmore, Project Engineer at Veripos, praised the work done by Commsworld, which he says has made a notable impact to its business and the vital service they offer their clients.
He said: “There were a few potential concerns with moving premises but our network connectivity is now faster and stronger than ever, therefore it has actually turned out to be a major - and unexpected - benefit of the move.
Commsworld were adamant they could deliver a better solution by unbundling everything and starting again and that is exactly what they have done. It is very impressive.
Resilience and reliability are obviously incredibly important factors when it comes to navigation and position solutions therefore this has made a major impact to our business.”
"Park’s Motor Group has been a customer with Commsworld for over 15 years and is testament to the strong relationship we have with them. Commsworld manage our full communications infrastructure from mobiles and telephony to our WAN and we have found they outperform in service delivery and management across the board. We can safely leave the management of our communications infrastructure with Commsworld enabling us to concentrate on our core business.”

As a client of Commsworld, the EICC enjoys ultra-fast gigabit capability as demonstrated in the press release above.
Richard Lloyd, EICC’s Client ICT Manager, believes the ultra-fast connectivity in such a prestigious venue like the EICC will have a huge positive impact, as they can pass all of these benefits onto their own clients who like the Insomnia Gaming Event, may be running highly technical online operations during conferences and events.
